1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

I took the liberty of grabbing a few relevant screen captures showing our Baurs at the BMW Vintage of Saratoga on July 14, 2012!

To paraphrase Monty Python:  No One Expects The BMW Baurs!
Here is the venue, a beautiful setting.

The Z1..... Yes, by BAUR!

That is me in the black Baur shirt, inspecting the E9s!

2002 Touring ....the back of my Baur t-shirt to the extreme right, and my son, Brian, in the Baurspotter black t-shirt and the baseball cap right behind me.  :)

Speaks for itself!

My favorite screen capture!  Mini-me on the roof of my Baur!

Word to the wise.

:)

ADDENDUM:  Here is a previous post that ... well, it just belongs here:

Tom S.'s  Baur #4154 1982 323i from Niantic, CT
Ed P's  1985 TC2 (E30) Baur 323i from Concord, New Hampshire

*There was a reliable report of an 8th Baur at the Vintage on Saturday.  I did not see the car or driver, how ever.  It is reported that Fred X. from Binghamton, NY arrived late and apparently parked separately.  We are actively seeking confirmation of this, especially any pictures taken of his Baur.

There was, in fact, another Baur present (nicknamed 'Mini-Me"), but the Judges have disallowed it in the Official Count, for some unknown reason.

;)

N.B. Thanks to THEPOOLEMAN for those pics above, except for the last one.  Credit for that goes to "Hitting Redline".

This was a Great day for the BMW Baur but.... it is only the beginning!  Some day we may look back at that day like this.....
