1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

1963 BMW 700 Convertible By Baur! For Sale!

This is a Baur, btw.
"1961 - 1963 Production of bodyshells of the BMW 700 Convertible"  From Karosserie Baur Chronicle.

Lots of folks credit this car as the 'car that saved BMW" back in the 50's.*

Not running. Needs full mechanical/cosmetic restoration”

Starting bid:

US $8,000.00

1963 BMW 700S Convertible plus many parts including engines, trans

1963 BMW 700S Convertible plus many parts, including spare engines/trans – These are very rare cars with only a little over 2000 of the convertibles manufactured. This is the car that saved BMW from going under in the late 50’s. This is an all original, never restored car that has never been in an accident and has all of its original paint and interior. However, the car has been severely neglected and stored in a carport for the past 35 years and is currently NOT RUNNING. The paint, although all there and original, is oxidized however with a professional polish, it could be brought back to life. The interior is in generally poor condition. The convertible top frame is all there but the top fabric is gone. These cars have a double floor for rigidity and the top floor appears OK but the bottom floor has holes and will need repair – see photos. There are some rust bubbles near the headlights and in front of the driver’s door. Sills and rockers are excellent are solid! The engine moves by hand but buyer should expect to rebuild it. The muffler is missing.  It needs brakes redone and all mechanical systems gone through as it has been sitting for 30 years. Steering column bushing has disintegrated so steering wheel has radial play. Passenger door lock mechanism is stuck so passenger door won’t open. Ignition/door keys, period brochures and old 700 club newsletters are included. The car comes with two extra 700S engines (in pieces) as well as an additional complete transmission and additional parts such as NOS rear light lenses, NOS brake cylinders, etc..
